USC Suction cups F.a.q

What is a suction cup and why is its quality so important?

A suction cup is a tool used to hold stone and glass slabs on machines. Its quality is essential for precise and safe machining. A high-quality suction cup ensures stability, prevents vibrations, and protects your materials and the machine’s spindle from damage.

How do USC suction cups differ from competitors in terms of materials?

USC suction cups are made with high-quality, anodized suction plates for superior resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Some competitors use non-anodized plates with low resistance or plastic/rubber plates that are affected by temperature and flexion. USC also uses stainless steel screws, unlike competitors who use galvanized iron screws which can easily oxidize.

What about the rubber seal? Is it vulcanized or glued?

The USC suction plan features a vulcanized rubber plate, ensuring the rubber cannot detach from the plan, which can happen with glued rubber, especially with ambient temperature variations. Each USC cup also comes with its own solid, dedicated rubber seal with no junctions, unlike some competitors’ products that may have a seal integrated into the suction plan itself.

How is precision and height accuracy guaranteed?

USC suction cups are manufactured using latest-generation machinery. The final rectification process ensures a height accuracy within 0.03mm (0.0011″). The rubberized plans are also rectified for maximum precision and flatness of 0.03mm (0.0011″). This is a significant improvement over competitors, whose flatness can vary from 0.1mm to 0.25mm.

How do USC suction cups prevent rotation and aquaplaning?

The USC suction plans feature a unique “Daisy Design” and specialized surface channels that ensure a great grip, prevent rotation, and avoid the risk of aquaplaning.

Are USC suction cups easy to repair?

Yes, they are designed for self-in repair. Customers can easily disassemble the cups and replace damaged components, such as the plans, by purchasing spare parts that are supplied pre-ground to ensure correct tolerances. This eliminates the need to send the product back to the manufacturer for repairs, saving time and money.

    What about vacuum sealing?

Each column is equipped with sealing O-rings to minimize the possibility of vacuum loss, a feature that is often missing in competitor products which can suffer from vacuum loss between the column and the suction cup or the central body and the suction cup.

Do USC suction cups offer a wide range of shapes and compatibility?

Yes, USC suction cups are available for all major machine brands and offer a wide range of more than 30 different shapes, with the selection growing daily. Both sides of the plate can be used, simplifying maintenance and increasing adherence to the machine’s bed.

What other products are in the USC range?

The USC range also includes pneumatic and manual positioning pin-stops and fixing clamps to complement your workflow.
